The San Carlo (Spritz)
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle SodaStream Classics Cloudy Lemonade
- 3-4 large fruited Ice cubes
- 50ml Bianco Vermouth (white, sweet vermouth)
- Half fresh lemon
- 3 dashes orange bitters
- To garnish: 1 fresh lemon zest, 1 fresh orange zest, 3 fresh raspberries on a cocktail stick, 1 mint tip
Method:
- 24 hours in advance, in a large ice cube tray, add a selection of lemon wheels, and cocktail cherries or raspberries, cover with water and freeze into fruited cubes
- Into a large gin goblet add the juice of half a lemon and the vermouth.
- Fill the glass with fruited ice cubes
- Make sparkling water with your SodaStream (Merlin recommends a 5-7 press carbonation), add a cap of SodaStream Classic Cloudy Lemonade flavour to the bottle
- Top up with the SodaStream Cloudy Lemonade
- Stir briefly to mix the ingredients
- Garnish with long twisted zests of orange and lemon wrapped around fresh raspberries on a cocktail stick. Twist the zests over the drink to release their oils and aromas.
Top tip:
Make a jug of The San Carlo to share when entertaining! Just use four times the ingredients in a large 1-2L jug full of ice.
