How to exchange your empty Sodastream CO2 cylinders in-store

Exchanging your empty Sodastream CO2 cylinders in-store couldn’t be easier. But first, check that this is the best way for you. If you have a CO2 online subscription, you need to send your cylinders back via post so we can track your returns and avoid any unnecessary missing cylinder charges. You can read how to do this here

However if you have an empty Spare cylinder, or you purchased your last cylinder in-store, this is how you can exchange your cylinders in-store.

Where?

We have partnered with many leading retailers to offer over 2,000 exchange touchpoints for both pink and blue CO2 cylinder exchange. These include Sainsbury’s, John Lewis, Currys, Robert Dyas, Ryman, TG Jones and many independent stores. You can find your nearest here.

How?

Exchange your Sodastream CO2 cylinders in 5 easy steps:

  1. Find your nearest eligible retailer on our store locator
  2. Take your empty cylinder into store (you don’t need a receipt or box)
  3. Find Sodastream in-store, grab a new cylinder – pink or blue depending on your machine
  4. Take it to the till, give the cashier your empty cylinder and let them know you’d like to exchange it for a fresh one
  5. The cashier will give you £10 off your new cylinder and will keep your cylinder to send back to us to be cleaned and refilled ready for re-use.

Thank you for helping close the loop on our cylinder exchange!

FAQs

Is there a deadline for me to exchange my empty cylinder in store?

  • No, there is no deadline for exchange on spare CO2 cylinders (if you have a subscription or online exchange, pay close attention to your returns window & send back via post within that window to avoid a charge)

Can I exchange blue for pink cylinders?

  • Yes, if you’ve upgraded one of our older Blue Screw-In cylinder machines for a new Pink Quick Connect cylinder machine, you can still take your empty blue cylinder into store and exchange it for a full, new pink one. Or, if you’d like to exchange pink for blue, you can do that too – as long as you’re returning an empty cylinder you’ll receive £10 off your next cylinder

Do I need my original receipt?

  • No, you don’t need any proof of purchase or receipt, it really is as simple as taking your old cylinder in

Can I exchange my cylinder at different retailers each time?

  • Yes, it doesn’t matter which retailer you purchased your last cylinder from*, you can exchange your cylinder at whichever store is most convenient for you.

*As stated above, the only time this would be an issue is if you ordered cylinders on sodastream.co.uk (exchange or subscription) & then did an exchange in a retail store, as we have no way to know you’ve done a physical exchange and you will likely receive missing cylinder charges on your account.

Do I need my original box?

  • No, you just need your empty cylinder, no box needed.
